Meet the Staff

Julie DeMarco, DVM, CVA
Thank you for visiting our website and I look forward to meeting you soon. A little background on me: I was born in Ohio but then grew up in many places including California, Colorado, Athens, Greece and Brussels, Belgium. In 1992, I received my BS in Zoology from the University of California at Davis. With this degree I taught educational programs at Sea World of Orlando for one year then went on to become an Animal Care Specialist (zoo keeper) at Sea World. I was so fortunate to be able to care for and interact with dolphins, manatees, killer whales, sea lions, seals, river otters and more!

I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2002 and worked as an Associate Veterinarian and a Relief Doctor before opening Whole Pet. My acupuncture certification is from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

What makes the Chi Institute program unique in the US is that it trains American veterinarians how to achieve more successful treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnoses, instead of only Western diagnoses.

Whole Pet Veterinary Care, LLC is a reflection of my deep beliefs in high quality veterinary care and honest business practices. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Katy - Veterinary Assistant
Hello, my name is Katy. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I don't remember a time I have not wanted to work with them. I grew up in the countryside of Tillamook where my family had dogs, cats, horses, goats, and just about everything else you can think of.

I started working at a veterinary clinic at the age of 14 and fell in love with it. I went on to earn my Bachelors of Health Science at Corban University. My husband and I currently have 4 other members of our family- our Rottweiler-mix puppy named Sparta, our pitbull Jake, and our two horses Wisdom and Cheyenne. We love to go on horse rides, take our dogs camping, hiking, and to the beach. Now that you know a little more about me, I can't wait to have the opportunity to learn more about you!

Tracy - Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist
Hello, my name is Tracy. I've lived in Oregon for many years and grew up in the Portland area. I started my career in the animal care field at the age of 16 by working at the local pet store. Ever since then, helping animals has been a passion of mine. By 24 I had transitioned into the veterinary field. I have over 9 years experience as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. My goal everyday when I come to work is to provide the best care possible to every patient and client.

When I'm not caring for animals at Whole Pet you can find me at home with my own fuzzy friends. Nila is my 5 ½ year old Malamute mix. She is very fuzzy and is such a lover.  Beau, my other Min Pin, is always up for a good cuddle with his Mom. My two lovable (and inseparable) cats are Lily and Star. Despite being sisters they look nothing alike.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends!

Kate - Receptionist
My name is Kate and I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet. I have enjoyed everyday that I have been lucky enough to be working here at Whole Pet since November of 2011. You and your pet will either be able to meet me at the front desk where I will be happy to schedule your appointment, or, somedays I assist as a veterinary technician. I have loved working with the animals at Whole Pet which has such an emphasis on being gentle and compassionate.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life as I grew up with a family full of lots of cats, dogs, birds, and fish. Before I came to Whole Pet, I spent most of my 30 years on the back of a horse, 12 years as a professional rider and trainer. My husband Josh and I now live in Dallas, with cats Zoe & Lady who allows us to live with them in exchange for love and affection. I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet! Let me know how I can make you feel at home?

Cindy - Office Assistant, Receptionist.
I love animals and have enjoyed caring for cats and dogs, and chickens and other birds, horses and other farm creatures. Currently, my household only has room for one cat with a big personality, Eliot. My experience as a receptionist at an acupuncture clinic and a procurer of lab supplies for a chemistry department paved my way to join the team at Whole Pet. I work behind the scenes to keep the clinic stocked with supplies and medicines so our skilled team can provide the best care for your beloved pets. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members.

Jessica - Receptionist
Hello my name is Jessica and I enjoy the outdoors, walking, hiking, running, camping, and spending time with my friends, family, and my dogs. I grew up in the Willamette Valley on a farm with horses, cows, ducks, goats, cats, and dogs. This is where my love of animals came from and I knew at a very young age I was going to work with animals. I have been working in the veterinary field for nearly 16 years, first as a receptionist and then cross-trained as a veterinarian assistant. At Whole Pet you will see me most often at the front desk, but my skill set allows me to help in all areas of the hospital. My love for the ones that have no voice, but huge hearts, grows with each year I spend in the veterinary field.

JoDanna - Veterinary Assistant
I started working in the veterinary field at age 14 in my hometown White Salmon, WA and have worked at vet hospitals ever since (14+ years). In my career, I’ve had the chance to work with exotic animals like tigers, wolves, owls, foxes, and lemurs! I also spent a year working with large animals, where I primarily did calving and lambing. I graduated from Oregon State University with an Animal Science and Business/Entrepreneurship degree. My dog’s name is Jersey, she is a springer and is a true companion. We enjoy being outside, hiking, camping, fishing...

Liz - Receptionist
Hello, my name is Liz. I have lived in Oregon for over 13 years and just moved to the Keizer/Salem area in 2016. I have worked in the animal/veterinary field for over 18 years and I majored in Zoology and Natural Resources in college. I have worked with a variety of species, both domestic and exotic. I love working with people and their pets, helping them have a great experience at the vet. The high level of care and attention is what attracted me to Whole Pet.

I also share my house with an Italian Greyhound named Rocco, Chihuahua Mix named Marbles, and two Cats Maru and Dysis.
